But modern CIOs and CISOs want “provable security”.  They see securing data as a strategic investment in mitigating risk and a quantifiable contribution to the overall value of their business.

This is something that the whole C-suite can embrace as CISOs and their security teams become more fully-vested members of the executive team. CISOs expect that their network security teams will be enabled with tools to make real-time changes to applications based on observable network flow.  They want to see that security policies are being enforced properly and, most importantly, prove that their security strategy is actually effective.
